figured i'd do a topic for it.

i'm trying to quit for at least a month - just found i was drinking a bit to much with all the stress.... anyways, its been 10 days since i last had a drink.. how long has it been for you?

how long are you trying to go without drinking?.

I like my glass of red wine, I don't over do it though. I mostly only drink water with lemon, and of course coffee.

Sounds just like me.

It's not safe to go days without drinking! I had a tall glass of ice water not a half hour ago.

(he he he... I know, you meant alcohol....) I wish you success in your endeavor--good for you, in recognizing and dealing with it before it becomes "a problem". This support thread is a good idea.

I enjoy a glass of wine in the evenings, but lately I find it leaves me depressed / sad afterwards. So maybe I should stop, too.

Makes you wonder why they don't like us quoting all those good quotes from their somewhat old literature... it sure doesn't invalidate the quote, per their own testimony!

last week was the cyclone.

this week it is the chinese earthquake that so far has taken about 8,000 lives.

Huh? I think that's called coincidence. I'm sure if I tried hard enough, I could tie bad weather or a cold McMuffin being served somewhere in Arkansas to everytime I take a dump...

There is no evidence to support a correlation between bad weather and shuttle flights:

The earthquake in China kills kids in their schools, tornadoes in the midwest kill kids and the mothers trying to protect them, flooding in Myanmar makes orphans and widows of thousands, and a perverted old guy in Austria rapes his own daughter and keeps her and his "grandkids" in a dungeon for 20+ years.

Yup, I'm absolutely convinced that "there is a God who cares."

for me, it's having friends that i don't have to hide my lack of meeting attendance/service from.

it's amazing how they teach you that only jws can be your real friends, but in reality, it's all contingent upon your religious "performance.

" sure, if you're not going to meetings, they'll try to be "friends," by encouraging you to go back.
